Wong Kar Wai did this in the same year as he did My Blueberry Nights. This is so much more awesome than My Blueberry Nights which was a disappointment in my opinion. I need a fan girl moment. 😀
HI PEOPLE~~~ IN CASE IF YOU FIND IT DIFFICULT TO DO POSE SKETCHING ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND YOU CANNOT MAKE IT FOR THE FREE OPEN DRAWING SESSIONS IN SCHOOL LIKE ME, HERE IS A LINK FOR YOU DO TO POSE STUDY AT HOME -> http://www.posemaniacs.com/ <- I AM REALLY EXCITED, THAT’S WHY I AM TYPING IN CAPS.
Finally found it from my uncategorized bookmarks, i put it on the right side links as well. My personal favourites are the 30 secs poses and the negative space exercises, really helps to train your eyes. and it has all the muscles showing helps with the anatomy to a certain extend.
BUT as much as the site’s helpful, I still think the best way is really to sketch people from life as much as possible, these images are 2 dimensional after all.
Figured that I should update a bit. So, a few things here
#1. Not because it’s really important but just that I happen to came across this while waiting for wordpress to load.
I might be doing something for this. Sounds really interesting
#2. If you have been here rather often, you will realise that I am constantly updating the links on the right side. Currently I am just dumping all the links into 2 main categories. I’ll continue to do so until i find an awesome way to sort them. I don’t really like the lots-of-headings-with-few-links thing, neither do I like what it is now… ’cause it will get painful for me and everyone else to find something when i updated ALL THE LINKS. YES! I still have A LOT OF BOOKMARKS SAVED here and there and everywhere. AREN’T YOU HAPPY? I am going to share my entire stalking list. 😀
So today, I just updated some of the youtube channels that I subscribe to. There are still quite a lot of sites to go.
#3. I don’t post often here. Because (if you haven’t read the About Page) It’s a place where I keep my art works, NOT my daily thoughts, events, recollections and rants. AND I keep my findings on MY TUMBLR where I go almost everyday. So, if you are interested in what i watch, what i read, what interests me, FOLLOW ME ON TUMBLR. 😀 -> http://sippingmymocha.tumblr.com/ ( I linked it twice in this post, in case you missed it already.) I need FOLLOWERS. 😀
Hence, this is going to be one of the few updates where i don’t mention my works.
Will update again soon . with work.
I did a short last semester about an old inventor and his dream of flight. It’s a mix of 2D hand drawn animation, 3D CG animation and stop motion puppet animation. it’s 90% done, because i still want to reshoot some stop mo parts to improve on the timing and to re-edit it the sound and stuff dun work so well now.
I built the puppet few month ago before i did the story. I like it a lot and felt that it should have a story.
Story in a summary. Once upon a time, an old inventor in victorian age was inspired by a bird in flight to design a flying machine. He got so caught up working in his lab/workshop and eventually get left behind by the world.
For now, here are some images.
The KeyholeMan was a stop motion project I did with my 3 other friends for our stop motion final project. It’s about this imaginary character who dwells in a drawer. One day, upon encountering a new object in the drawer and find that his whole existence was in question.
I created the puppet of the character based on the team’s design and out of desktop stationery and some household parts which can be found in drawers.
Found art sculptures are the love. If I ever stop working in the field of animation, I would like to make found art sculptures from junks all day long. 😀
A piece i made for a school assignment.
Here’s a work that i am really proud of. It’s an abstract construction i created based on sketch of my childhood memory of a place. It was selected for the school open house that year together with the lobster piece, but the lobster piece was removed at the last minute due to some complication.
Read more about this work at my Behance page.
Some of my drawings 2 years ago. Haven’t been drawing much since then.
Time to draw more. 🙂
I love cats and birds. They are just so beautiful and very elegant as well. Since Phuong told me that in Vietnam, they have cat year instead of rabbit year and i am going through all my old works, I’ll just post my cat and bird drawings.
these drawings are done between 2007 and 2008. Recently, I was told that the ink ones are more interesting than the pen sketched ones. Maybe I should move back to experiment more with ink and other mediums and get out of the comfort zone built by pencils and pens.
